Among the people who are part of INFORMALOGY are a group of students interested in collecting information on informality in Peruvian society, its causes and consequences, to share it with our readers. This blog also seeks to disseminate relevant data on why many people resort to informality, since the majority of informal workers are judged but nobody knows their situation, and in the same way, to make our content go viral to achieve a change in people's thinking and provide support to those who need it.
In Peru there is a sociology of informality, there are no places where we do not see people working as street vendors, businesses or companies in which all workers have a contract and are paid what is fair or the minimum salary that corresponds to them by law, unfortunately and because we do not take the time to investigate, many believe that this is because others decide to work like this, without seeing the shortcomings they suffer, their needs, and without thinking for a minute that those companies that hire Informal workers also take advantage of the situation to pay what is convenient for them and not what they really deserve. For this and more reasons, our goal is to inform ourselves and share what we learn, to stop living deceived and together make a change both in thought and in the reality that we live.
Why INFORMALOGY?
We chose this name because our general idea is “The sociology of informality”, hence we decided to combine the words INFORMAlity and socioLOGY to create a new word that sums up the issue our blog will address.
